Well one year in....

I have been slow to update the blog recently. For this I apologise. Lots of things to update you all with very soon! We have both enjoyed a birthday now here and as of April 1st we passed our first year living in Spain.

We both still love it here and are very settled down here now.

Cullera & Valencia 20th to 23rd November

We have friends that live in Cullera who had been down to Vera Playa and up to our house a couple of times over the summer - hi Felix & Juan Carlos! - and during the conversations between Stuart and Felix the opera house in Valencia had bean mentioned! So as the new program was beginning in November a plan was hatched between them that we'd visit and kill two birds with one stone - see Valencia & Cullera and they would go and see a performance there. There is a special deal for seniors that on a Wednesday they get half price tickets but you have to queue up and see if there are seats available at 11 am when the box office opens. Stuart & Felix queued and Juan Carlos and I went sightseeing round the amazing area around the Opera House and the nearby museum etc. We got to go for some lovely meals. I got to meet a long time internet buddy and fellow DJ David - another American ex Boston -  from the Dakota Bar in Valencia also. We had Thursday in Valencia after travelling in by train and met David's partner Enrique at their lovely apartment in the city. They were preparing for a Thanksgiving dinner that evening so we didn't overstay our welcome and we had arranged to get back to go out for a meal to celebrate Thanksgiving with Felix and Juan Carlos - the first time Stuart had never had Turkey on Thanksgiving!
